Master Cut EDM, which has been offering quality wire EDM electrical discharge machining services since 2000, is an EDM specialist with a focus on projects that require precise machining and fine finishes in addition to our CNC small-hole EDM capabilities.
A motorcycle industry client asked Master Cut EDM to wire EDM a fender mold that would be used to form plastic, inner fenders.
The customer provided material was P-20 alloy steel (pre-hardened) and would not require additional heat treatments.
Master Cut EDM used wire electrical discharge machining on multiple pockets in a single setup to ensure the utmost accuracy on its Makino U86 wire EDM. We met tight tolerances of +/-.0005 and performed the required in-process inspections and tests.
We manufactured three of the 1500 pound fender molds, one daily, for shipment to the client.
